Athletics

The Broward County Middle School Athletic Association (MSAA) of Broward County Public Schools is committed to building leaders through sportsmanship, citizenship, and fair play. MSAA currently oversees 59 public and charter middle schools and 8 different sports. The MSAA sports are Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, Basketball, Track & Field Events, Flag Football, Volleyball, and Floorball.

All student-athletes must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.  Students who fall below this standard are ineligible to play.

Athletics plays an important part in a child's life. Team sports and activities promote good physical health, social skills, and communication skills. When students learn to work together as a team, they build a foundation for good sportsmanship.

General Sports Information

If your child is interested in playing any sport this year for CSMS? We have soccer, golf, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, flag football, and track and field. If so, they must be cleared by submitting an online athletic packet on Aktivate.com.  This is new this year and must be done even if you have done a sport with CSMS in previous years. You must create an account on the website or, if you have an existing account, you can fill out a new packet for the upcoming school year. Students must be cleared in order play for a school team.  Every student needs an updated physical.  This form must be completed by a doctor and uploaded to your packet on Aktivate.com. There is a new physical form this year, so please make sure you use the one attached to Aktivate.com. On Akitivate.com you will also find the MSAA permission form that needs to be notarized as well as be able to upload a copy of your child's insurance.
