Seventh-grade students will engage with the principles, functions, and organization of government; the origins of the American political system; the roles, rights, responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active participation in our political system.
Throughout the year, your child will:
- interpret and create representations of historical events and concepts using mathematical tables, charts, and graphs.
- learn content and strategies to prepare for the end of course exam.
- analyze real-world current events
- practice listening, reading, and speaking on political topics of interest.
- Create arguments backed with evidence in order to coherently discuss political issues of the day.
